In the mid-1980s the Brecksville United Methodist Church identified a need for an independent living facility in the local area. Unable to handle the project solely on their own, the church enlisted the services of Associated Healthcare to help them bring their idea to fruition. In 1987 Chippewa Place, owned and operated by Associated Healthcare, was founded to offer local seniors a true sense of community, a sense of sharing, and the opportunity to continually promote their independence through an active and stimulating lifestyle. We met recently with Executive Director Laurie Weiser, and listened as she described this luxurious and vibrant community;

Chippewa Place has recently formed a new affiliation with AllianceCare, a premiere provider of comprehensive, home-based senior healthcare services. We're now able to provide comprehensive healthcare services to our residents through our newly opened AllianceCare Healthy Lifestyle Center. We've added medical rehabilitation, Medicare certified home care, wellness and preventative health care services designed to not only allow our residents to participate in wellness programs, exercise classes, and health seminars, but also to enable many of our residents to come home from a hospital stay rather than being forced to move to a nursing home or assisted living facility.
