Koester Pavilion, a spacious living care center with sprawling grounds, was established between Piqua and Troy, Ohio in 1977. Named for the philanthropic Koester family in January 1990, Koester Pavilion offers excellent opportunities for rehabilitation and senior living. This 150 bed facility offers residents and families individualized choices for life enhancement and restoration of the total person. Since 1990, AdCare Health Systems, Inc. (managers) and Upper Valley Medical Center (owners) have been innovative partners in the development of this
progressive living care center.
LIFE ENHANCEMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Koester Pavilion prides itself on reaching out to each individual resident and providing them with opportunities to have an "active" or "relaxing" life style
and to choose how they would like to be involved. There are many choices
for our residents and how they would like to spend each day.
Spiritual - Physical - Social - Music Creative - Other Structured Programs.
We have a library with a variety of reading materials. We also have a meeting room and a large recreation room that can be reserved for any occasion the resident and/or family member would like to celebrate.
We have the best of both worlds, city life and country life. Our campus consists of large grounds with open fields and trees where residents can take a stroll. A great way to relax and spend time with family and friends is on our large shaded porch with rocking chairs and old-fashion gliders.
If our residents want a bit faster pace, the activity programs also include numerous outings that range from lunch out at a favorite restaurant, drives to enjoy Christmas lights, Red's games, County Fairs, and even boat rides at Indian Lake. Family and friends are welcome to join us on our outings.
A "Home" would not be complete without the love and comfort you get from a pet. Koester Pavilion has something for everyone: A large Bird Aviary, our much loved dog "Buster"; our cat "Lilly"; our new aquarium in the east wing lobby, and "Frosty" our cockatiel bird. Our adored dog "Snuggles" has been adopted and will occasionally come back to visit.
All organizations are invited to share their areas of expertise with our residents. We provide educational and entertaining activities from our local 4-H clubs, Bruckner's Nature Center, miniature horses, llamas, to name just a few.
Our staff provides "Family Care with a Family Touch" that makes living at Koester feel like home away from home.
ENTRANCE DESK
You will find that as you enter Koester Pavilion, the employees and residents are always interacting with each other, like families do. It truly is family care with a family touch!
OUR STAFF
We strive to employ only individuals that comply with our standard of high qualifications. All employees goals are to help attain or maintain each resident's well being and quality of life. Residents receive loving professional care from our experienced team.
OUR GROUNDS
Our landscaped grounds include this lovely pond. Perfect for an afternoon walk and wonderful conversation!
OUR ENTRANCE
The front porch is located by our entrance, and is a great place to relax and enjoy the outdoors. Families are invited to come and spend the day with their loved ones. "Families are an important part of our team."
KOESTER KAFE
Koester Kafe is a Kozy old time soda shop at Koester Pavilion. It is open various weekdays and offers ice cream, floats, coffee, cookies and other goodies as requested by the residents.
OUR ACTIVITY AREA
Our expansive resident kitchen activity area provides a place for residents along with the activity staff to participate in a cooking session called "Down Home Cooking" each month. The residents join in to help prepare the meals from scratch. This room can also be utilized for family gatherings with the residents.
AVIARY AREA
Our residents like to spend time watching our lively feathered friends at the aviary area located in our lobbby. Below is one of lovely birds.
OUR FURRY FRIENDS
No place is complete without our loyal and faithful companions. The white dog is "Snuggles", the black and white dog is "Buster", and the cat is "Lilly". They roam the main halls knowing where they can go and where they can't. They bring much joy and love to Koester Pavilion. "Snuggles" has been adopted and comes back to visit Buster on occasion.
