About Lutheran Home at Toledo
LHT-ice-cream.jpg
Lutheran Home at Toledo is surrounded with charm and history. Located adjacent to the former Lutheran Orphan's Home in East Toledo and St. John's Lutheran Church, the Home offers extended care. In its move to become a Continuing Care Retirement Community, Lutheran Home at Toledo renovated a portion of the building to create assisted living apartments.
Extended Care Center
Initially called "The Lutheran Old Folks Home," the Toledo campus has undergone many changes through the years and has emerged as a highly-respected facility in the area.
Extended care is the hallmark of the Toledo home, being fully-staffed 24-hours a day with registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nurse aids.
The Extended Care Center is both Medicare and Medicaid certified.
This care is backed by a sound program of restorative therapies including physical, occupational, and speech.
Assisted Living
Opened in May 2000, the 40 apartments offer affordable, totally private accommodations. Each apartment has one bedroom, a spacious bathroom and a combination living room and kitchenette. These assisted living apartments are adjacent to the Care Center. With the independent living apartments just across Seaman Street, assisted living becomes the third component of our retirement community.
The Place To Call Home
What makes the Toledo Home so unique is its full range of activities...
Residents participate in activities such as ceramics, crafts, and quilting. There's even a special cookie bake room where residents share their
culinary expertise to create desserts that rival the oldest and best bakeries in the country.
A large community room is available for special gatherings, events, and programs that enrich the lives of residents.
For a quiet moment, the chapel is designed for regular services or private meditation. The library offers residents a place to relax with a good book, surf the net, e-mail or play bridge on the computer.
Each floor features an activities area where residents can pursue special interests, the arts...or just gather together to share the warmth of friendship and companionship.
