Welcome to Melbourne Village
Let us introduce you to Melbourne Village, a privately owned retirement facility in Worthington, Ohio. We are dedicated to providing comfortable housing at reasonable rates for people between the ages of 55-90 who are mentally and physically capable of living independently. We require no endowments and offer no government subsidies.
We have a central building that includes laundry, lounge, large activities room w/kitchen and our offices.
Melbourne Village is located within walking distance of Worthington Mall, Krogers, several banks, restaurants, nursing home and office buildings that have tenants providing various services. Several of the local churches provide transportation to their services.
The City of Worthington has a very nice senior center with a van pickup for various activities, including luncheons, out-of-town excursions, and shopping. The Worthington City Recreation Center is just a short walk from Melbourne Village.
Residents pay their own telephone, cable and electricity in addition to their rental fee, which includes water, sewer, trash pickup (dumpster) and grounds care of general areas. The apartments are all electric and well insulated for minimum heating/cooling cost. Each apartment has its own outside entrance, and is equipped with stove, refrigerator, garbage disposal, carpeting and air-conditioner sleeve. If residents wish to have air-conditioning they must provide their own unit that fits into the provided sleeve. Residents are invited to plant flowers and shrubs in the small garden plots at the entrance to their apartment if they so desire.
Our biggest asset is our residents who cherish their ability to be independent while enjoying the friendships, activities, and sense of security they find at Melbourne Village.
