Bellefontaine, founded by a Shawnee war cheif, Blue Jacket, has served as the county seat since 1820 and has a fascinating history full of rich tradition.
Bellefontaine is the site of the highest point in Ohio (1,550 ft.), the first concrete street in the world (1891), and the world's shortest street (30 ft.). Bellefontaine offers a wide variety of stores and shops which capture the charm of the small communities of the Midwest.
